My Two Cents
I'm really looking forward to this Friday! It will be the first time we've all seen each other in something other than running clothes. I wonder if we'll recognize each other. Maybe we should all wear yellow ribbons to identify ourselves as coyotes. (Just kidding) Anyway, I have to add my two cents to our camaraderie. During the ten years I lived in L.A., I ran with a group of guys who sort of became my surrogate fathers. In fact, the first time I ran ten miles, I had only ever run seven before that. At seven miles, I wanted to quit. Morty, who was my favorite running partner, grabbed my hand and wouldn't let go until I finished the entire ten. He also ran the first 18 miles of my first marathon with me. He passed away while I was living in L.A. and I still think of him every time I run. I've always wanted to find people to run with that I can enjoy as much as I enjoyed running with Morty and all the other L.A. group. It's been my great fortune to have found this group and to know that we will continue our trials together after Sunday. Good luck to everyone! And thank you!
