Coyote Schedule

Since our training goes for a couple of weeks after the marathon, I think, has there been a schedule set as to where, what time, and what distance those runs are going to be?

Once our official training is over I guess we will be running as Coyotes. We all talk a lot about running as a group after the training but unless we come up with a plan/schedule we will eventually fade away. This happens all the time, same as loosing contact with old friends. We all have busy lives so it is difficult to make time for running, or anything else for that matter. That being said, we need a schedule to keep us on track. I mentioned to Tom a while back the idea of each of us taking turns hosting runs. What this means is that we each take turns hosting a run. If it's your turn to host you plan the run, set the time and place and coordinate the drinks/food. We still need to decide on a frequency, every 2 weeks, once a month etc etc. The place could be your home course. Merle, you may have a favorite place to run in NJ so on your week we could run there. David you may have a favorite course in Valley forge and so on.

If no one else wants to do it I would be happy to set the schedule of who is hosting and when. All I need is the date of our first run and the frequency, I think monthly would be good but that is just me. If we do this right no one should be burdened with a lot of work and each of us will only need to host about once a year or less depending on the frequency.

Just thought I'd get the ball rolling.

Hey, iPod and all. I am all for the plan of each Coyote taking his/her turn hosting our group runs. Count me in; I am also in favor of you, iPod, doing the schedule. I am available on any Saturday except the last week of January 08 (will be running the ING Miami Half-Marathon!) and the first 2 weeks of February 08 (will be going home to the Philippines to visit my folks!).

A monthly run sounds great. I am thinking it could be a regularly planned "long-run". By that I mean 10-15 miles. That way we will maintain a reasonable base. Saturdays are good for me, just not as early as we have been running.

We could go with the first Saturday of each month to help us remember. I know not everyone will be able to make each run. I for example will not be available the first Saturday in December.

I agree with Gary and others that we need a regular plan and schedule in order for this to work until we are ready to reassemble for another Galloway season.
